I feel very strongly about safeguarding normal birth. I want you to know that birth is a natural, normal and physiological function for you and your baby and as such, it need not be feared.
As your doula, I will provide emotional care and practical assistance to you and your partner during labour and the early postnatal period.
My support to you is unconditional. It involves listening, not judging. It involves offering a hug, touch, a shoulder to lean on.
I am there to help you discover your own strength, to help you awaken your innate birthing power and make you realise that you can indeed help yourself. I will educate you on your options and help you know and voice your birth rights. I will hold space for you and make sure that your birthing environment is everything you envision it to be and need it to be in that very moment. I will make you feel safe because when you feel safe, respected and in control, your body can function normally, gently and calmly.
It’s my promise to you as your doula to stay calm, be gentle and have an open heart.
Your birthing day is everything. It’s your moment, your birth and i will never take for granted just how much of a privilege it is to be invited in to witness it.

“Hi Amy, it's Benny.
I wanted to write something to you earlier, but my perfect life has taken up the whole of the last few days.
I wanted to say a big thank you to you for being such an important part of Willa's birth.
We did not have any specific thoughts about how our birth would pan out, only that we wanted it to be both natural and calm for Liv and Willa, and to enjoy it as much as possible. Being able to look at it now, I don't think i could imagine a more perfect birth for us if I tried.
From pregnancy to birth and till now, everything has been the most perfect fit for us. When we got Willa home and had our first day here, it felt like we had been a family for years.
You have been a big part of this for us, and have influenced our experience in the best possible way.
It never showed more than on Sunday night when you came to our house and instantly Liv and I were relaxed and sure we were in for something enjoyable. Your presence is immediately calming and it made all the difference throughout the birth for us. The hours ticked by but I never felt tired, and having you there the whole time was reassuring for both of us, and I'm sure that Willa felt it too.
I don't know how you were ever a lawyer! Although I'm sure you were a good one, I am also sure your purpose on this earth, other than being a mother to your family, is to help other people begin their families in the most naturally beautiful way they can.
We are so lucky Liv found you. I hope you will be a part of our family for a long time, and we look so forward to hanging with your family.
